What is CertificationPlus?

CertificationPlus is a continuing education opportunity for our Children’s Ministry Certification Graduates. CDM believes that churches will be strengthened as Children’s Ministry Leaders continue learning together.

This fall, we have two offerings.

Hope for the Future

  • 4 week cohort: Gather over zoom (likely Tuesday afternoons beginning September 23) to meet with other CM leaders to discuss The Multigenerational Church Crisis by Bryan Chapell. (Books mailed beginning of September.)
  • In Person learning at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Birmingham, AL:
    Welcoming One Another (as Christ has welcomed you), in collaboration with Iron City Fellows.
    Thursday, October 23 (begins at 5pm) to Saturday, October 25, 2025 (ends at 11 am).
  • Registration deadline is August 25, 2025.

Foundations of Apologetics and Outreach (audit course in collaboration with Covenant Theological Seminary)

  • In Person learning at Covenant Theological Seminary, St. Louis, MS:
    Monday, January 12 (begins at 8:30am) to Wednesday, January 14, 2026 (ends at noon).
  • Bi-weekly cohort mid-January through mid-April
    Gather over Zoom for rich discussion based on video content and readings.
  • Registration deadline is October 1, 2025.

Certification Plus has been a joy! The online lectures, readings and especially the group discussions have helped further my understanding of how Children’s Ministry helps develop one’s maturity in Christ. The few days of residency in St. Louis were edifying and encouraging. The next Sunday morning at church as I was doing my usual routine, I realized that I was different—the Lord had changed me during those few days. My view of His covenant children was deeper, richer, and more grace-filled.  Praise the Lord!
